Tailored Business Software for Your Global Operations

For multinational corporations, selecting the right business software is crucial to meet the diverse needs of each location. The software must integrate effortlessly with the company’s core ERP system, ensuring a cohesive and transparent database across all departments. Additionally, it should be easy to deploy, reducing the complexity of implementation across various offices.

At Ingold Solutions, we are confident that SAP Business One offers the ideal solution for an international rollout. In this section, we will explain how we approach these rollouts and what corporate clients can expect when partnering with us for a smooth, efficient implementation.

Why SAP Business One is the Ideal Choice for Corporate Clients

When compared to larger ERP systems, SAP Business One offers a more streamlined and efficient solution. Its simplified interface, with fewer screens, makes it more intuitive to use, significantly reducing the learning curve.

In our experience, subsidiaries located abroad typically require only the essential functionalities offered by SAP Business One. This results in a faster rollout process, enabling implementation across multiple countries within a year. While larger ERP systems may require up to a year per location, SAP Business One allows for the deployment of up to eight subsidiaries within the same time frame and with the same level of effort. Our use of standardized templates for international rollouts further streamlines the process, minimizing implementation effort.

    Ingold’s Approach to International Rollouts

At Ingold, we believe that every rollout should be treated as a central rollout. This approach ensures system consistency and seamless integration with the corporate ERP. The central rollout is executed through the creation of a template and typically involves a pilot location, which allows us to gather precise insights into the specific requirements for each rollout.

Ingold manages the rollouts directly in each country to prevent excessive customization, ensuring a consistent and cohesive system landscape. Post-implementation, we also provide ongoing maintenance and support. We take full responsibility for delivering and maintaining the system as requested by our clients.

    Step 1: Template Creation

We begin by collaborating closely with the customer to define the system’s requirements. Based on this understanding, a template is created that also considers any international developments, integration into the corporate ERP, and any third-party system integrations if necessary.

    Step 2: Template Rollout

Our certified Ingold Solutions experts thoroughly test the template for suitability. This phase ensures the template concept meets all customer requirements and addresses any potential gaps. Once validated, the system is built with the required localization. Further meetings with the customer ensure successful integration, and system acceptance is granted.

    Step 3: Key User Training

As an SAP Business One partner, Ingold Solutions takes responsibility for training key users at each branch. These key users then become the trainers for the end-users. Training typically lasts between two and five days, depending on the focus area (e.g., purchasing or financial accounting). After the training, a final meeting with the project manager ensures the system’s successful go-live with full support.

    Who Manages an International Rollout?

Ingold appoints a senior consultant as the project manager for every international rollout. This consultant takes the lead by managing and coordinating with the customer. The project manager is assisted by two to three back-office team members who focus on system configuration and, when needed, data migration.

Additionally, an SAP Business One expert typically participates to handle localization requirements and provide end-user training as needed. As a member of SAP’s global partner network, Ingold Solutions can easily access the necessary expertise to ensure the success of the rollout.

How Are System Upgrades, Maintenance, and Support Managed?

Even after the system is live, Ingold Solutions provides ongoing support for the maintenance and management of the installation. From the start, we prioritize system stability during implementation, which has resulted in minimal need for support in most cases.

Customers receive assistance within standard business hours, based on Indian working days. In the rare case of a system crash or urgent issue, our dedicated support team is available for immediate assistance during Indian working hours. Emergency support is available to all clients, although it is infrequently needed. Therefore, it is considered an optional service and is only billed when used.

For system upgrades, we carry out the process on a secondary SAP Business One system running parallel to the production system. The upgrade is thoroughly tested on this system before being transferred to the live environment. This typically takes one day, ensuring that the production system is quickly ready for use again once the upgrade is complete.

Can SAP Business One Be Implemented in My Country?

SAP Business One version 10.0 is available in 50 country-specific localizations and 27 language versions. In cases where a country does not have a specific localization, it is typically possible to use a similar localization from another country. For example, while there is no Romanian localization for the ERP system, Romania and France share similar tax regulations, so the French localization is used as a foundation for adapting to Romania’s specific requirements.

If the language of a country is not available, the system rollout may be conducted in English or another widely used language. However, in some instances, local partners have contributed their own translations of the system. For example, Thailand initially lacked both a specific localization and a language version of SAP Business One until local SAP partners stepped in to provide them.

At Ingold Solutions, we take a detailed approach when dealing with countries that lack a dedicated localization. Having worked in many countries, we are experienced in using alternative localizations recommended by SAP. For instance, in South America, we successfully implemented rollouts for branches using the Chilean localization as a base.
